Hello friends.
Do you set goals for yourself? Have you set any recently?
I had been thinking “Wouldn’t it be cool to do a First Friday” and I followed it up by telling my best friend that that was one of my objectives for this year. I talked to some people and felt confident I could make it happen but didn’t have a concrete plan. Meanwhile, I focused on my workshop offerings and started putting myself out there more.
Then, just when I least expected it, I got contacted by two different venues to participate in First Friday. Yey! Happy dance!
So, this is why I am nervous to set goals sometimes. Because they have a tendency to actually happen. This is scarier than just dreaming and doing nothing. But that wouldn’t be any fun, right? Plus, isn’t being scared one of the major themes of October? haha. Seriously though, I am so grateful I get to do what I do.
First Friday!
Come say hi to me at Cosmic on Friday October 5 for the Choose Santa Cruz Fall Pop- up! It is probably going to be the coolest stop downtown. Check out all the amazing people who will be there:
I’m also happy to announce two workshops:
Intro to Weaving is scheduled for October 20 at 2pm at All Hands I hope you have heard of this place because it is brand new, and also one of the most inspiring and joyful crafting spaces I’ve ever been too. They have so many cool things lined up. Check out all the workshops here.
Stitch a cute cactus is scheduled for Sunday the 28 at Mini Mint. I’m really excited to teach at this space because it is a beautifully curated baby store (even if you don’t have a baby you’ll find yourself wanting buy stuff!), and it is also a source of community and creativity for moms. Craving a creative space as a mom is one of the things that led me to teaching workshops. So this kind of thing is near and dear to my heart. Plus—this is one of my most popular and fun workshops. I hope you’ll check it out.
